RE: RPG: Berry Picking

Sally was on her feet, looking quite frightened.
She'd let the gem slip back into the pile, so there were no gems on her person.
"Please!" She called out. "If we leave all the treasure behind, will you let us go, or at least not shoot us!?" Her ocarina was clutched in her hands as her eyes met those of their captors'.

Sente's heartless eyes met hers, no emotion in them.

"You have defiled our treasure," he responded.

Sally stepped forward, between this man and her newfound friends.
"We ment no harm! It was simply a misunderstanding! I'm sure that your treasure is quite alright."
She persisted.

Sente shook his head and a band of unkept outlaws came running from the woods all around them. Most of them brandished whips or staves, weapons that were not lethal. They quickly over-powered the group and chained them. Sente's eyes went over them, silently counting. He frowned.

"One of them is missing," he stated.

Fiondirs breath began to quiken as he ran through the forest. Sally's diplomacy had diverted the attention of the bandits long enough for him to find an open way out. He had run silently for about a mile leaving no tracks, and the chances of them catching him was close to impossable.

I can reach Edheldor in no less than thirty-five minutes at this pace, once I reach there, they should easily be able to send out a...

Fiondir slowed to a stop as he came to an intercepting road as he began realized to return to Edheldor would mean the council would discover his escape, and it would be impossable for him ever to escape again. He gazed for a moment down the winding road as he weighed their fates. He looked down the other way as the image of his father strolling away from the Edheldor appeared, and as suddenly as it had come, faded into black.

Perhaps this new fate of their's would be even more merciful than being lost in the depths of the forest. I can do no more for them.

Fiondir thought as he began to run toward the north tower of the wizard.

"We rest here for the night," Sente ordered.

His men herded the Elves and Sally into one spot and left six men to guard them, the rest branching out to hunt for birds and other game. Elradrien struggled vainly at the tight ropes around his wrists, then looked over at the others.

"Any chance of one of you getting out of your bonds?" he whispered.

One of the guards kicked him and shouted, "Be silent!"

Mirithil struggled uselessly to get out of her bonds. She knew that if her father found out what had happened to her, all of these bandits would be punnished justly, but if there were many more bandits, to let them know of Edheldor could mean a battle, or even a war.

Mirithil looked out into the woods are wondered if Calondel would be able to reach Edheldor in time, and if he did, if her father would be able to save them.

Elradrian looked over at her, his eyes wide.

"Think he'll bring help quickly enough?" he whispered, too softly for a human ear to hear.

I think they could, but I don't know it that will save us. Keep an eye out for a way of escape.

Elradrien nodded, pulling futilely at his bonds.

Sally had remained quiet. Inwardly, she blamed herself for getting her new friends into trouble. She knew that treasures, especially hords of treasures were not of much use and often made your life harder, not easier.

Yet she had an idea. Sally knew if she let on she had, the guards would watch her, but they were watching the ones who seemed to be trying.

Her breath slowed, her shoulders relaxed... and her very slender hands slipped out from their bonds.

She did not dare do more. Her hands were still hidden behind her back, but now she was partially free to help her friends.

Vagor stood guard outside of the prisoners tent. He kept a constant eye on them, judging which one was the most likely to try to escape first.  Having three elves tied just a few feet away from him and not being aloud to kill them was misserable, but what bothered him even more is that the elves never closed their eyes to sleep, and even though hours past, they never grew tired.

A group of five came back out from the woods and headed towards Sente's tent. Vagor could tell by the look of disgust and annoyance written on their faces that they were not able to find the elf that had run away.

Vagot turned back to the group, one of the girl's eyes were on him now. Her brown eyes held no fear. He felt his hand reach for his sword, but he would not kill her yet.
Hours past before daylight, at dawn the prisoners were tied to the back of the horses to walk behind as they carried on. No food had been given them since they arrived, and it became evident for the human after walking for several hours. Finaly they came to a stream, but were still walked through it. As the sun came to the top of the sky, the soldiers near the prisoners began to discuss between themselves what they could do to them,  if not kill them. Eventualy they stopped to start a fire and eat, the prisoners exausted from the walk.
